Hellooooo guys, it's been about 11 days since I've updated this blog. I think it's been long enough to update you guys on what I've been doing.
As you probably already know, there's a reason I was late to posting this last week. I said I was going to update this in one week (yea THAT went well), but life gets in the way. Since the last time I updated this blog, I've started a lot of new things, regardnig school clubs and personal projects.
I think the first one I'd like to talk about is one regarding my Year 2 students for our AHS Game Development Club. This is a HUGE step for our club (especially considering we've never actually published any games officially), but this will be the first time we'll be able to publish a well-developed game of our own on Steam! The VP this year knows a bit about publishing games on Steam, so with his help and the much MUCH bigger Y2 team we have this year, I think it's safe to say we have a good year ahead of us.
Regarding what the game will actually contain: I don't really know :). I hope it's some sort of indie / adventure game, since that'd definitely be the most interesting and fun to develop, but we'll do whatever the consensus says we should.
Also in relation to our club, even though I say it every year, I mean it once again this time: but our community of Y1's are AMAZING. There are so many talented people scripting, art, music, and almost everything-wise when it comes to game development. This one guy made a chip-tune out of every single deltarune song ever published, and I thought that was genuinely so cool. I'll have to ask him about how he does that later.
NOWW onto my OWN things. Enough boring school (not really but I wanted to say this for the segue). Weird how I haven't talked about this before but I love to theorize about games I like, and especially ones that have a bunch of plot holes. One of my favorites, as you might have already expected from my previous posts is Deltarune. Ever since the recent chapter came out regarding the Flower Shop Dark World, TOO many ideas and theories have been circulating around the community, especially regarding the shadow crystals. I haven't gathered a lot of evidence yet, but I've taken it upon myself to use any freetime I have to try and do multiple playthroughs and see what catches my eye regarding the topic of them. Who knows, maybe something new will pop up soon? My only lead as of right now is the previous posts on holidaygirl1225's blog about Seam, but we'll see.
Yeah yeah, I know it isn't all academic, but that's just how it is sometimes. On the topic of academics though, one of my favorite papers finally got published in JHSS this time! It looks promising especially considering the last paper I had in JHSS, given the distinguised award for excellency. This one is based on the topic of chirality for organic molecules, which I analysed across thousands of assays on a database known as ChEMBL (basically a giant collection of millions of lab measurements on drug-like molecules). Safe to say its an untapped market, since theres a lot of cool features about molecules that you could learn about yourself on there, like how much stronger one mirror image of a drug can be than the other.
Other than that though, there hasn't been much. I can only do so much in a week. But the future looks pretty fun, especially the new theory I want to work on. I'll let you all know how that goes. THIS TIME I'll be back in a week. Quote me on that.
