Sickness + New Ideas?

Anyways, this past week and a half has been pretty eventful to say the least.

Hey guys, it's been a minute since I've updated this blog (ANOTHER 11 days) and I broke my promise AGAIN of updating this on time. This time, I think I'll just update it whenever I can, cause it seems like the world is against me when it comes to reaching my deadlines 😭.

Anyways, this past week and a half has been pretty eventful to say the least. Regarding school, I've been extremely overwhelmed with work, much more than these previous weeks. Just today (When I'm updating this) I have a test at the end of the day in Physics! Luckily I get to go to this one random Thai restaurant in SF w/ my older brother, so that'll be fun.

Along with that test, these past two weeks have "rewarded" me with a test in literally EVERY SINGLE CLASS! Nonetheless, when work is presented to me I somehow get it done, even if it is a teency tiny bit late.

But besides my general schoolwork, a lot of my projects have started to look more cohesive. Especially this recent game I've been working on. It's an offshoot on GameMaker Pro of an indie game I really like (Undertale) w/ similar movement mechanics and roleplay features, but with my own twists to it. Just yesterday, I got the game to fully run on a GameMaker test space, with the characters moving around accordingly. Progress has been going pretty smoothly to say the least. My plan is for the coming weeks to try and fully flesh out the interaction system (w/ battles, dialogue, etc.) and see where the game is then. After that, I think I'll need to start putting in some serious work into the lore in order to see what I should do next.

On the topic of games too, Game Development Club has been really fun recently. We just started planning a whole new steam game (possibly monetized? πŸ˜…) that we could develop this coming semester, and progress seems to be looking pretty good. Along with the other new and incoming members, learning how to use Unity has been pretty chill too. We'll see how the rest of this month goes to see where we are and what we could realistically do by the end of December.

But speaking of deadlines, I haven't done anything college-related in a minute. To be honest, all of my energy has just been diverted to my own hobbies. Every chance I get I've just been doing something I "felt like" at the time, like using my guitar and strumming around w/ it, or planning certain things I could do in the future (like going to ANOTHER bunii concert). As fun as it is I MIGHT have to start actually planning things to do in the coming weeks, since I think I'm a tiny bit behind. Ideas are popping up into my head as I right this though. In terms of actually brainstorming what to write, I think I'll be fine. It's just actually going through and WRITING about it.

I know I've been talking about roughly the same things over and over again in each blog, but something new I saw is going to happen!! Yeah, horrible description, but essentially what's happening is that this Saturday (aka TMRW) in SF there's a YCombinator Hackathon that seems interesting to go to. Get to meet the people who made the Iphone Duo, and maybe make some connections and get awards? It'll be fun to say the least. Hoping to form a team when I get there.

That's all I have for this week though. I don't think I'll be back until maybe 8+ days, so don't expect anything anytime soon. But trust me, I WILL be back.
