Helloooo guys what's up!! I've been cruising through senior year so far, as I've already said in my last post, but a LOT has happened this past week.
I've been pretty caught up w/ personal relationship issues--especially with my friends. Crazy to say but one of my oldest friends literally 3 days ago was caught in a car crash when going to school. HE IS fine, as he says, but it is still scary to think about what could have happened to him. You never know when your last day on earth is huh.
Anyways, aside from all of the social nonsense, college stuff is going well. I'm slowly working on it as time goes on, but I swear every time you think you make progress, more stuff comes up. Recently, after working on my UC application, the counselor profile packet was finally released (basically a google form we need to fill out thoroughly to help our counselors write recommendation letters about us). I've filled out multitudes of forms for recommendation letters, so this one is no different, but nonetheless it is kind of annoying. I'll make it work though.
In addition to that, both of my dual enrollment classes have FINALLY officially started, and I finally got past all of the nonsense that comes w/ dual enrollment regarding Canvas. I'm currently taking Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus this fall semester, and both of them are pretty cool. Especially the Linear Algebra class. In the syllabus of the class (since this is an online asynchronous class), the teacher has decided to add a proof-writing section to each unit of Linear Algebra, which is kind of cool! Some extra stuff but it seems to be fun.
Other than that, my research has been going well. I've been going back and forth with this guy named Charles Delahunt, who works as a professor in ECE at UW. He's been giving me advice on my research regarding a new lens for finding schistosomiasis eggs (a parasite in polluted riverwater, mostly found in Africa). A lot of work is still needed, but a few new innovations are happening. Can't really reveal ALL of it right now but I've found a new method to differentiate between the dark and light lenses Delahunt used in finding schistosomiasis (SCH) eggs, and using a conditional confidence system w/ a fourier layers, I've gotten very good results.
Still deciding whether I want to turn in this research or a different chemistry project I made over this summer into Regeneron STS 2027. I'll need to think more about it and finalize the scope of the SCH project before I make a final decision.
Other than that a lot of new changes have happened w/ me and the gym (yea ik kinda boring) but I've recently started a bulk. And OH MY GOD it's amazing. I went from a -500 deficit to a +250 cal surplus, and you can just imagine how rewarding that is. My strength has gone up considerably too, especially after editing my A/P program. More changes are necessary as time goes on, but it seems to be going well now. I'm thinking when I reach ~170 lbs, I'll reassess whether I need to keep going w/ the bulk and see if I need more muscle or if I need to cut fat.
I guess that's all I have to say for now. Since the last post though, I added a system for you guys to comment or like on my posts so theres SOME (if any) interactions. Feel free to leave something down below! Might come back to this in like 1-2 weeks idk don't expect anything yet..
